In Friday's league outing, the Gruver Greyhounds (Gruver, TX) basketball squad edged the host Booker Kiowas (Booker, TX), by a count of 51-46.
The Greyhounds (20-9) will now prepare for their outing against Stratford (Stratford, TX). The Elks go into the 2A Region I District 1 outing with a 5-10 record. In their last outing, Stratford held off Sanford-Fritch (Fritch, TX), 68-46, in a league outing.
The Kiowas now hold a 15-10 record. They play next when they travel to Sanford-Fritch for a 2A Region I District 1 outing on Tuesday, January 31. Booker will clash with a Eagles squad coming off a 70-40 league win over Sunray (Sunray, TX). The Eagles record now stands at 13-11.
