Texas High School Basketball - Panhandle thwarts Boys Ranch

The Panhandle Panthers (Panhandle, TX) basketball knocked off the visiting Boys Ranch Roughriders (Boys Ranch, TX), 42-34 in Friday's league test.

The Panthers (16-6) will now prepare for their test against Vega (Vega, TX). The Longhorns go into the 2A Region I District 3 test with a 14-9 record. In their last test, Vega notched a victory over Highland Park (Amarillo, TX), 67-31, in a league test.

The Roughriders now own a 9-12 record. They play next when they host Bovina for a 2A Region I District 3 test on Tuesday, January 31. Boys Ranch will encounter a Mustangs squad coming off a 66-30 league loss to Farwell (Farwell, TX). The Mustangs record now stands at 14-11.
