Butler Golden Tornado (Butler, PA) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the visiting Seneca Valley Raiders (Harmony, PA), 78-71 in a league bout.

With the win, Butler upgrades its record to 14-4 on the season. The Golden Tornado travel to New Castle (New Castle, PA) to play the Hurricanes in a WPIAL 6A 1 bout on Tuesday, January 31. The Hurricanes go into the bout with a record of 15-2. New Castle won 62-53 in their recent league bout against North Allegheny (Wexford, PA)

Next up, the Raiders play the Union Area Scotties (New Castle, PA) in a non-league bout, on Saturday, January 28. Seneca Valley will attempt to upgrade on its 6-10 season record. The Scotties go into the bout with a 16-0 record after their 74-34 league win over Cornell (Coraopolis, PA).
