Pennsylvania High School Basketball - Carbondale Area edges Riverside

The Carbondale Area Chargers (Carbondale, PA) basketball nipped the visiting Riverside Vikings (Taylor, PA), 58-51 in Friday's league test.

The Chargers (9-4) will now prepare for their test against Mid Valley (Throop, PA). The Spartans go into the Lackawanna 3 test with a 13-3 record. In their last test, Mid Valley got by Dunmore (Dunmore, PA), 34-33, in a league test.

The Vikings now own a 9-5 record. They play next when they host Holy Cross for a Lackawanna 3 test on Tuesday, January 31. Riverside will encounter a Crusaders squad coming off a 62-33 league win over Old Forge (Old Forge, PA). The Crusaders record now stands at 12-3.
