Litchfield Purple Panthers (Litchfield, IL) backers were pleased Friday as they saw their basketball squad knock off the host Carlinville Cavaliers (Carlinville, IL), 55-41 in a league bout.

With the victory, Litchfield upgrades its record to 14-10 on the campaign. The Purple Panthers travel to Hillsboro (Hillsboro, IL) to play the Hiltoppers in a South Central bout on Friday, February 3. The Hiltoppers come into the bout with a record of 14-9. Hillsboro won 82-53 in their recent league bout against Gillespie (Gillespie, IL)

Next up, the Cavaliers play the Bunker Hill Minutemen (Bunker Hill, IL) in a non-league bout, on Tuesday, January 31. Carlinville will attempt to upgrade on its 5-16 season record. The Minutemen come into the bout with a 6-16 record after their 78-57 non-league win over Mulberry Grove (Mulberry Grove, IL).
