The Sparta Bulldogs basketball team scored 62 points and held the visiting Carlyle Indians to 41 in the Bulldogs league triumph on Friday.

The Bulldogs now sport a 18-5 record. They play next when they host New Athens for a non-league bout on Tuesday, January 31. Sparta will play a Yellow Jackets squad coming off a 56-54 league loss to Steeleville (Steeleville, IL). The Yellow Jackets record now stands at 11-11.

Next up, the Indians play the Nashville Hornets (Nashville, IL) in a non-league bout, on Saturday, January 28. Carlyle will attempt to upgrade on its 8-16 season record. The Hornets go into the bout with a 14-11 record after their 42-33 league loss to Carterville (Carterville, IL).
