Serra Catholic Eagles (McKeesport, PA) backers were pleased Friday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the host Clairton Bears (Clairton, PA), 56-51 in a league bout.

With the victory, Serra Catholic upgrades its record to 9-8 on the campaign. The Eagles host Springdale (Springdale, PA) to play the Dynamos in a WPIAL 2A 3 bout on Tuesday, January 31. The Dynamos come into the bout with a record of 8-10. Springdale lost 46-44 in their recent league bout against Riverview (Oakmont, PA)

Next up, the Bears play the Leechburg Blue Devils (Leechburg, PA) in a WPIAL 2A 3 bout, on Tuesday, January 31. Clairton will attempt to upgrade on its 9-9 season record. The Blue Devils come into the bout with a 7-11 record after their 58-52 league loss to Greensburg Central Catholic (Greensburg, PA).
