The Grainger Grizzlies basketball team (Rutledge, TN), was toppled 61-47 in Friday's league battle with the visiting Cocke County Fighting Cocks (Newport, TN)
The Fighting Cocks now possess a 13-9 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Jefferson County for a non-league battle on Tuesday, January 31. Cocke County will confront a Patriots team coming off a 62-48 league loss to Sevier County (Sevierville, TN). The Patriots record now stands at 12-11.
The Grizzlies (10-10) will now prepare for their battle against Claiborne (New Tazewell, TN). The Bulldogs come into the 3A District 2 battle with a 3-15 record. In their last battle, Claiborne was toppled by Cherokee (Rogersville, TN), 50-49, in a league battle.
