Richland Royals (North Richland Hills, TX) backers were pleased Friday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the host Colleyville Heritage Panthers (Colleyville, TX), 57-54 in a league bout.

With the victory, Richland upgrades its record to 17-6 on the campaign. The Royals host Birdville (North Richland Hills, TX) to play the Hawks in a 5A Region I District 7 bout on Tuesday, January 31. The Hawks come into the bout with a record of 14-11. Birdville lost 39-34 in their recent league bout against Argyle (Argyle, TX)

Next up, the Panthers play the Lake Dallas Falcons (Corinth, TX) in a 5A Region I District 7 bout, on Tuesday, January 31. Colleyville Heritage will attempt to upgrade on its 18-8 season record. The Falcons come into the bout with a 5-19 record after their 58-43 league loss to Grapevine (Grapevine, TX).
