In Friday's league outing, the Thurston Colts (Springfield, OR) basketball squad edged the visiting Crater Comets (Central Point, OR), by a count of 54-52.
The Colts (10-8) will now prepare for their outing against Ashland (Ashland, OR). The Grizzlies go into the 5A Midwestern outing with a 8-7 record. In their last outing, Ashland held off Churchill (Eugene, OR), 52-39, in a league outing.
The Comets now hold a 11-6 record. They play next when they host Springfield for a 5A Midwestern outing on Friday, February 3. Crater will clash with a Millers squad coming off a 47-39 non-league loss to Crescent Valley (Corvallis, OR). The Millers record now stands at 2-12.
