Wingate Bears (Fort Wingate, NM) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting Cuba Rams (Cuba, NM), 67-57 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Wingate upgrades its record to 8-11 on the season. The Bears travel to Crownpoint (Crownpoint, NM) to play the Eagles in a 3A District 1 bout on Tuesday, January 31. The Eagles go into the bout with a record of 14-5. Crownpoint won 61-46 in their recent league game against Thoreau (Thoreau, NM)

With the defeat, Cuba moves to 5-13 on the year. The Rams travel to East Mountain (Sandia Park, NM) to face the Timberwolves in a 3A District 5 game on Tuesday, January 31. The Timberwolves enter the game with a record of 3-16. East Mountain lost 51-45 in their recent league game against Cottonwood Classical Prep (Albuquerque, NM)
