DeKalb County Tigers (Smithville, TN) backers were pleased Friday as they saw their basketball squad knock off the visiting Livingston Academy Wildcats (Livingston, TN), 73-61 in a league bout.

With the victory, DeKalb County upgrades its record to 8-11 on the campaign. The Tigers host Smith County (Carthage, TN) to play the Owls in a non-league bout on Monday, January 30. The Owls come into the bout with a record of 8-13. Smith County won 56-49 in their recent league bout against Cannon County (Woodbury, TN)

Next up, the Wildcats play the Cumberland County Jets (Crossville, TN) in a 3A District 7 bout, on Tuesday, January 31. Livingston Academy will attempt to upgrade on its 18-3 season record. The Jets come into the bout with a 4-19 record after their 64-44 non-league loss to Pickett County (Byrdstown, TN).
