North Carolina High School Basketball - Gray's Creek fells Douglas Byrd

January 27, 2023: Fayetteville, NC 28304

Gray's Creek Bears (Hope Mills, NC) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the host Douglas Byrd Eagles (Fayetteville, NC), 53-42 in a league bout.

With the win, Gray's Creek upgrades its record to 4-14 on the season. The Bears host Lumberton (Lumberton, NC) to play the Pirates in a 3A/4A Conference 22 bout on Tuesday, January 31. The Pirates go into the bout with a record of 17-2. Lumberton won 65-53 in their recent league bout against South View (Hope Mills, NC)

Next up, the Eagles play the Cape Fear Colts (Fayetteville, NC) in a 3A/4A Conference 22 bout, on Tuesday, January 31. Douglas Byrd will attempt to upgrade on its 0-19 season record. The Colts go into the bout with a 10-8 record after their 84-64 league loss to Seventy-First (Fayetteville, NC).
