Echo Cougars (Echo, OR) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the host Pilot Rock Rockets (Pilot Rock, OR), 72-59 in a league bout.

With the win, Echo upgrades its record to 6-8 on the season. The Cougars host Nixyaawii Community (Pendleton, OR) to clash with the Eagles in a 1A Old Oregon bout on Tuesday, January 31. The Eagles go into the bout with a record of 14-1. Nixyaawii Community won 95-20 in their recent league bout against Griswold (Helix, OR)

Next up, the Rockets clash with the Union Bobcats (Union, OR) in a 1A Old Oregon bout, on Saturday, January 28. Pilot Rock will attempt to upgrade on its 4-11 season record. The Bobcats go into the bout with a 18-2 record after their 71-21 league win over Elgin (Elgin, OR).
