The Monroe Area Purple Hurricanes (Monroe, GA) basketball nipped the visiting Hart County Bulldogs (Hartwell, GA), 48-47 in Friday's league test.
The Purple Hurricanes (18-3) will now prepare for their test against Franklin County (Carnesville, GA). The Lions go into the AAA Region 8 test with a 5-16 record. In their last test, Franklin County was tipped by Stephens County (Toccoa, GA), 82-66, in a league test.
The Bulldogs now own a 12-9 record. They play next when they host Hebron Christian Academy for a AAA Region 8 test on Tuesday, January 31. Hart County will encounter a Lions squad coming off a 60-54 non-league loss to Southwest DeKalb (Decatur, GA). The Lions record now stands at 8-13.
