The Huntington Red Devils (Huntington, TX) basketball nipped the host Hemphill Hornets (Hemphill, TX), 59-57 in Friday's league test.

The Red Devils (16-13) will now prepare for their test against Pineywoods Community Academy (Lufkin, TX). The Timberwolves go into the 3A Region III District 21 test with a 12-17 record. In their last test, Pineywoods Community Academy was tipped by Newton (Newton, TX), 69-40, in a league test.

The Hornets now own a 13-11 record. They play next when they travel to Pollok Central for a 3A Region III District 21 test on Tuesday, January 31. Hemphill will encounter a Bulldogs squad coming off a 58-44 league loss to Diboll (Diboll, TX). The Bulldogs record now stands at 16-14.
