Newport Harbor Sailors (Newport Beach, CA) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting Huntington Beach Oilers (Huntington Beach, CA), 77-66 in a league bout.

With the win, Newport Harbor upgrades its record to 18-8 on the season. The Sailors travel to Laguna Beach (Laguna Beach, CA) to play the Breakers in a Wave bout on Tuesday, January 31. The Breakers go into the bout with a record of 7-19. Laguna Beach lost 55-51 in their recent league bout against Corona del Mar (Newport Beach, CA)

Next up, the Oilers play the Chino Hills Huskies (Chino Hills, CA) in a non-league bout, on Monday, January 30. Huntington Beach will attempt to upgrade on its 11-14 season record. The Huskies go into the bout with a 9-15 record after their 95-69 league loss to Rancho Cucamonga (Rancho Cucamonga, CA).
