Lanphier Lions (Springfield, IL) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the host Springfield Senators (Springfield, IL), 60-55 in a league bout.

With the win, Lanphier upgrades its record to 15-8 on the season. The Lions travel to Sacred Heart-Griffin (Springfield, IL) to play the Cyclones in a Central State Eight bout on Saturday, January 28. The Cyclones go into the bout with a record of 21-2. Sacred Heart-Griffin won 64-49 in their recent league bout against Springfield Southeast (Springfield, IL)

Next up, the Senators play the Springfield Southeast Spartans (Springfield, IL) in a Central State Eight bout, on Saturday, January 28. Springfield will attempt to upgrade on its 8-17 season record. The Spartans go into the bout with a 10-14 record after their 64-49 league loss to Sacred Heart-Griffin (Springfield, IL).
