Marist Spartans (Eugene, OR) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the host Marshfield Pirates (Coos Bay, OR), 45-26 in a league bout.

With the win, Marist upgrades its record to 8-10 on the season. The Spartans host Cottage Grove (Cottage Grove, OR) to play the Lions in a 4A Sky Em bout on Wednesday, February 1. The Lions go into the bout with a record of 11-8. Cottage Grove lost 62-36 in their recent league bout against Junction City (Junction City, OR)

Next up, the Pirates play the North Bend Bulldogs (North Bend, OR) in a 4A Sky Em bout, on Tuesday, January 31. Marshfield will attempt to upgrade on its 8-9 season record. The Bulldogs go into the bout with a 6-10 record after their 45-44 league loss to Cottage Grove (Cottage Grove, OR).
