The Walnut Wildcats basketball team (Walnut, MS), was nudged 66-59 in Friday's league battle with the visiting New Site Royals (New Site, MS)
The Royals now possess a 21-6 record. They put it on the line next when they host Mantachie for a non-league battle on Tuesday, January 31. New Site will confront a Mustangs team coming off a 68-60 non-league loss to Pine Grove (Ripley, MS). The Mustangs record now stands at 1-14.
The Wildcats (6-17) will now prepare for their battle against Falkner (Falkner, MS). The Eagles come into the non-league battle with a 17-8 record. In their last battle, Falkner edged Tupelo Christian Prep (Belden, MS), 80-42, in a non-league battle.
