Georgia High School Basketball - Newton fells South Gwinnett

Newton Rams (Covington, GA) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the host South Gwinnett Comets (Snellville, GA), 49-38 in a league bout.

With the win, Newton upgrades its record to 13-7 on the season. The Rams host Brookwood (Snellville, GA) to clash with the Broncos in a AAAAAAA Region 4 bout on Tuesday, January 31. The Broncos go into the bout with a record of 10-11. Brookwood lost 70-41 in their recent league bout against Grayson (Loganville, GA)

Next up, the Comets clash with the Parkview Panthers (Lilburn, GA) in a AAAAAAA Region 4 bout, on Tuesday, January 31. South Gwinnett will attempt to upgrade on its 14-7 season record. The Panthers go into the bout with a 11-9 record after their 59-56 league loss to Archer (Lawrenceville, GA).
