Fans at Friday's league challenge between the PikeView Panthers (Princeton, WV) and the host WestSide Renegades (Clear Fork, WV), saw PikeView's basketball squad hold off WestSide by a count of 49-45.

With the victory, PikeView upgrades its record to 4-9 on the campaign. The Panthers host Midland Trail (Hico, WV) to play the Patriots in a Coalfield A challenge on Tuesday, January 31. The Patriots come into the challenge with a record of 8-4. Midland Trail won 57-41 in their recent non-league challenge against Sherman (Seth, WV)

Next up, the Renegades play the Liberty Raiders (Glen Daniel, WV) in a Coalfield AA challenge, on Wednesday, February 1. WestSide will attempt to upgrade on its 7-7 season record.
