The Powder Valley Badgers (North Powder, OR) basketball nipped the visiting Pine Eagle Spartans (Halfway, OR), 49-42 in Friday's league test.
The Badgers (9-8) will now prepare for their test against Imbler (Imbler, OR). The Panthers go into the 1A Old Oregon test with a 11-6 record. In their last test, Imbler got by Wallowa (Wallowa, OR), 64-32, in a league test.
The Spartans now own a 6-9 record. They play next when they host Joseph for a 1A Old Oregon test on Saturday, January 28. Pine Eagle will encounter a Eagles squad coming off a 62-21 league win over Wallowa (Wallowa, OR). The Eagles record now stands at 12-5.
