The Wellman-Union Wildcats basketball team (Wellman, TX), was routed 73-12 in Friday's league battle with the host Sands Mustangs (Ackerly, TX)
The Mustangs now sport a 10-11 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Klondike for a 1A Region I District 8 battle on Tuesday, January 31. Sands will battle a Cougars team coming off a 50-36 league loss to Grady (Lenorah, TX). The Cougars record now stands at 5-9.
The Wildcats (1-11) will now prepare for their battle against Loop (Loop, TX). The Longhorns come into the 1A Region I District 8 battle with a 6-12 record.
