Palma Chieftains (Salinas, CA) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the host Salinas Cowboys (Salinas, CA), 44-42 in a league bout.

With the win, Palma upgrades its record to 17-2 on the season. The Chieftains host Hollister (Hollister, CA) to play the Haybalers in a bout on Wednesday, February 1. The Haybalers go into the bout with a record of 2-4. Hollister lost 69-52 in their recent league bout against Carmel (Carmel, CA)

Next up, the Cowboys play the Alisal Trojans (Salinas, CA) in a bout, on Thursday, February 2. Salinas will attempt to upgrade on its 1-3 season record.
