Anthony Wildcats (Anthony, TX) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad bounce the visiting Patterson Institute Lions (El Paso, TX), 33-11 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Anthony upgrades its record to 10-16 on the season. The Wildcats host McCamey (McCamey, TX) to play the Badgers in a 2A Region I District 6 bout on Tuesday, January 31. The Badgers go into the bout with a record of 9-10. McCamey won 52-39 in their recent league bout against Fort Hancock (Fort Hancock, TX)

Next up, the Lions play the Immanuel Christian Warriors (El Paso, TX) in a non-league bout, on Monday, January 30. Patterson Institute will attempt to upgrade on its 0-5 season record. The Warriors go into the bout with a 24-5 record after their 64-44 league win over Community Christian (Mineral Wells, TX).
