Center Roughriders (Center, TX) backers were pleased Friday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the visiting Spring Hill Panthers (Longview, TX), 35-31 in a league bout.

With the victory, Center upgrades its record to 12-13 on the campaign. The Roughriders travel to Gilmer (Gilmer, TX) to play the Buckeyes in a 4A Region III District 17 bout on Tuesday, January 31. The Buckeyes come into the bout with a record of 20-8. Gilmer won 44-39 in their recent league bout against Carthage (Carthage, TX)

Next up, the Panthers play the Chapel Hill Bulldogs (Tyler, TX) in a 4A Region III District 17 bout, on Tuesday, January 31. Spring Hill will attempt to upgrade on its 14-15 season record. The Bulldogs come into the bout with a 19-8 record after their 46-39 league win over Center (Center, TX).
