Hondo Owls (Hondo, TX) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad bounce the host Dilley Wolves (Dilley, TX), 61-14 in a league bout.

With the win, Hondo upgrades its record to 23-8 on the season. The Owls host Crystal City (Crystal City, TX) to play the Javelinas in a 3A Region IV District 28 bout on Tuesday, January 31. The Javelinas go into the bout with a record of 19-11. Crystal City won 41-28 in their recent league bout against Natalia (Natalia, TX)

Next up, the Wolves play the Lytle Pirates (Lytle, TX) in a 3A Region IV District 28 bout, on Tuesday, January 31. Dilley will attempt to upgrade on its 0-15 season record. The Pirates go into the bout with a 21-10 record after their 80-65 league win over Cotulla (Cotulla, TX).
