The Elizabethton Fighting Cyclones basketball team scored 73 points and held the visiting Volunteer Falcons to 47 in the Fighting Cyclones league triumph on Friday.

The Fighting Cyclones now sport a 19-4 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Unicoi County for a 3A District 1 contest on Tuesday, January 31. Elizabethton will battle a Blue Devils team coming off a 56-52 league loss to Tennessee (Bristol, TN). The Blue Devils record now stands at 11-10.

The Falcons (6-15) will now prepare for their contest against Morristown-Hamblen West (Morristown, TN). The Trojans enter the non-league contest with a 12-6 record. In their last contest, Morristown-Hamblen West triumphed over Morristown-Hamblen East (Morristown, TN), 59-30, in a league contest.
