Emmetsburg E'Hawks (Emmetsburg, IA) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the host West Bend-Mallard Wolverines (West Bend, IA), 58-48 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Emmetsburg upgrades its record to 8-8 on the season. The E'Hawks travel to Alta-Aurelia (Alta, IA) to clash with the Warriors in a non-league bout on Tuesday, January 31. The Warriors go into the bout with a record of 11-7. Alta-Aurelia won 54-42 in their recent league bout against Northwest Webster (Manson, IA)

Next up, the Wolverines clash with the Harris-Lake Park Wolves (Lake Park, IA) in a non-league bout, on Monday, January 30. West Bend-Mallard will attempt to upgrade on its 7-8 season record. The Wolves go into the bout with a 3-10 record after their 33-31 league loss to Akron-Westfield (Akron, IA).
