The Franklin Lions basketball team (Franklin, TX), was routed 59-25 in Friday's league battle with the host Fairfield Eagles (Fairfield, TX)
The Eagles now sport a 29-2 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Mexia for a 3A Region III District 20 battle on Tuesday, January 31. Fairfield will battle a Black Cats team coming off a 64-17 league win over Elkhart (Elkhart, TX). The Black Cats record now stands at 28-3.
The Lions (15-5) will now prepare for their battle against Teague (Teague, TX). The Lions come into the 3A Region III District 20 battle with a 14-15 record. In their last battle, Teague trounced Groesbeck (Groesbeck, TX), 58-29, in a league battle.
