Fleming Colonels (Roanoke, VA) backers were pleased Friday as they saw their basketball squad knock off the visiting Franklin County Eagles (Rocky Mount, VA), 41-31 in a league bout.

With the victory, Fleming upgrades its record to 13-4 on the campaign. The Colonels travel to Huntington (Huntington, WV) to play the Highlanders in a non-league bout on Saturday, January 28. The Highlanders come into the bout with a record of 9-6. Huntington won 52-42 in their recent league bout against Hurricane (Hurricane, WV)

Next up, the Eagles play the William Byrd Terriers (Vinton, VA) in a Blue Ridge bout, on Tuesday, January 31. Franklin County will attempt to upgrade on its 11-8 season record. The Terriers come into the bout with a 2-17 record after their 48-45 league loss to Staunton River (Moneta, VA).
