Fans at Friday's league challenge between the Hampton Hornets (Hampton, GA) and the visiting McDonough Warhawks (McDonough, GA), saw Hampton's basketball squad hold off McDonough by a tally of 48-43.

With the victory, Hampton improves its record to 2-17 on the campaign. The Hornets host Mt. Zion (Jonesboro, GA) to play the Bulldogs in a AAAA Region 5 challenge on Tuesday, January 31. The Bulldogs come into the challenge with a record of 0-19.

Next up, the Warhawks play the Pace Academy Knights (Atlanta, GA) in a AAAA Region 5 challenge, on Saturday, January 28. McDonough will attempt to improve on its 3-16 season record. The Knights come into the challenge with a 8-9 record after their 58-6 league win over Mt. Zion (Jonesboro, GA).
