Harlingen South Hawks (Harlingen, TX) backers were pleased Friday as they saw their basketball squad bounce the visiting Porter Cowboys (Brownsville, TX), 56-32 in a league bout.

With the victory, Harlingen South upgrades its record to 17-16 on the campaign. The Hawks host Lopez (Brownsville, TX) to play the Lobos in a 5A Region IV District 32 bout on Tuesday, January 31. The Lobos come into the bout with a record of 17-14. Lopez won 50-35 in their recent league bout against Edcouch-Elsa (Edcouch, TX)

Next up, the Cowboys play the Donna North Chiefs (Donna, TX) in a 5A Region IV District 32 bout, on Tuesday, January 31. Porter will attempt to upgrade on its 0-17 season record.
