California High School Basketball - Helix thwarts Monte Vista

January 27, 2023: La Mesa, CA 91941

The Helix Highlanders (La Mesa, CA) basketball knocked off the visiting Monte Vista Monarchs (Spring Valley, CA), 48-33 in Friday's league test.

The Highlanders (15-7) will now prepare for their test against Grossmont (El Cajon, CA). The Foothillers go into the Grossmont - Hills test with a 12-4 record. In their last test, Grossmont went down by Mount Miguel (Spring Valley, CA), 74-38, in a league test.

The Monarchs now own a 14-8 record. They play next when they host El Capitan for a Grossmont - Hills test on Tuesday, January 31. Monte Vista will encounter a Vaqueros squad coming off a 42-41 non-league loss to Christian (El Cajon, CA). The Vaqueros record now stands at 14-10.
