The Jefferson Hawks (Cedar Rapids, IA) basketball knocked off the host Prairie Hawks (Cedar Rapids, IA), 49-41 in Friday's league test.
The Hawks (8-9) will now prepare for their test against Cedar Falls (Cedar Falls, IA). The Tigers go into the Mississippi Valley test with a 11-3 record. In their last test, Cedar Falls notched a victory over Ames (Ames, IA), 71-31, in a non-league test.
The Hawks now own a 5-8 record. They play next when they travel to Washington for a Mississippi Valley test on Friday, February 3. Prairie will encounter a Warriors squad coming off a 59-43 league loss to Linn-Mar (Marion, IA). The Warriors record now stands at 6-22.
