Fans at Friday's non-league challenge between the Winona Winhawks (Winona, MN) and the visiting John Marshall Rockets (Rochester, MN), saw Winona's basketball squad overcome John Marshall by a tally of 52-37.

With the victory, Winona improves its record to 5-10 on the campaign. The Winhawks travel to Owatonna (Owatonna, MN) to confront the Huskies in a AAAA Section 1 challenge on Friday, February 10. The Huskies come into the challenge with a record of 7-11.

Next up, the Rockets confront the Lakeville North Panthers (Lakeville, MN) in a AAAA Section 1 challenge, on Saturday, January 28. John Marshall will attempt to advance on its 2-14 season record. The Panthers go into the test with a 11-5 record after their 41-30 non-league win over Shakopee (Shakopee, MN).
