Kenedy Lions (Kenedy, TX) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting Port Aransas Marlins (Port Aransas, TX), 48-32 in a league bout.

With the win, Kenedy upgrades its record to 10-16 on the season. The Lions travel to Yorktown (Yorktown, TX) to play the Wildcats in a 2A Region IV District 31 bout on Tuesday, January 31. The Wildcats go into the bout with a record of 13-17. Yorktown lost 46-44 in their recent league bout against Three Rivers (Three Rivers, TX)

Next up, the Marlins play the Refugio Bobcats (Refugio, TX) in a 2A Region IV District 31 bout, on Tuesday, January 31. Port Aransas will attempt to upgrade on its 7-15 season record. The Bobcats go into the bout with a 16-12 record after their 46-36 league win over Woodsboro (Woodsboro, TX).
