Northwestern Regional Highlanders (Winsted, CT) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad bounce the host Shepaug Valley Spartans (Washington, CT), 47-17 in a league bout.

With the win, Northwestern Regional upgrades its record to 13-1 on the season. The Highlanders travel to Litchfield (Litchfield, CT) to play the Cowboys in a Berkshire bout on Tuesday, January 31. The Cowboys go into the bout with a record of 0-12. Litchfield lost 49-29 in their recent non-league bout against Housatonic-Wamogo (Falls Village, CT)

Next up, the Spartans play the Terryville Kangaroos (Terryville, CT) in a Berkshire bout, on Tuesday, January 31. Shepaug Valley will attempt to upgrade on its 4-9 season record. The Kangaroos go into the bout with a 2-8 record after their 47-17 league loss to Gilbert (Winsted, CT).
