Union Yellowjackets (Union, MS) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the visiting Southeast Lauderdale Tigers (Meridian, MS), 43-36 in a league bout.

With the win, Union upgrades its record to 14-8 on the season. The Yellowjackets host French Camp Academy (French Camp, MS) to clash with the Panthers in a non-league bout on Saturday, January 28. The Panthers go into the bout with a record of 0-6. French Camp Academy lost 58-38 in their recent league bout against Leake County (Walnut Grove, MS)

Next up, the Tigers clash with the Morton Panthers (Morton, MS) in a 3A Region 5 bout, on Saturday, January 28. Southeast Lauderdale will attempt to upgrade on its 1-9 season record. The Panthers go into the bout with a 17-3 record after their 80-28 league win over Clarkdale (Meridian, MS).
