Sylmar Spartans (Sylmar, CA) backers were pleased Friday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the visiting Van Nuys Wolves (Van Nuys, CA), 50-46 in a league bout.

With the victory, Sylmar upgrades its record to 11-3 on the campaign. The Spartans travel to Reseda (Reseda, CA) to play the Regents in a Valley Mission bout on Wednesday, February 1. The Regents come into the bout with a record of 3-12. Reseda lost 50-43 in their recent league bout against Panorama (Panorama City, CA)

Next up, the Wolves play the Canoga Park Hunters (Canoga Park, CA) in a Valley Mission bout, on Monday, January 30. Van Nuys will attempt to upgrade on its 12-12 season record. The Hunters come into the bout with a 1-12 record after their 94-6 league loss to San Fernando (San Fernando, CA).
