Essex Trojans (Tappahannock, VA) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting Colonial Beach Drifters (Colonial Beach, VA), 41-26 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Essex upgrades its record to 5-5 on the season. The Trojans host North Stafford (Stafford, VA) to clash with the Wolverines in a non-league bout on Saturday, January 28. The Wolverines go into the bout with a record of 6-2. North Stafford lost 57-47 in their recent non-league bout against Colonial Forge (Stafford, VA)

Next up, the Drifters face the King & Queen Central Royal Tigers (King & Queen Court House, VA) in a non-league game, on Monday, January 30. Colonial Beach will attempt to move on its 0-7 season record.
