Grundy Golden Wave (Grundy, VA) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad bounce the visiting Hurley Rebels (Hurley, VA), 45-20 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Grundy upgrades its record to 8-1 on the season. The Golden Wave travel to Twin Valley (Pilgrims Knob, VA) to play the Panthers in a non-league bout on Friday, February 3. The Panthers go into the bout with a record of 3-6. Twin Valley lost 35-32 in their recent non-league bout against Hurley (Hurley, VA)

Next up, the Rebels play the Giles Spartans (Pearisburg, VA) in a non-league bout, on Saturday, January 28. Hurley will attempt to upgrade on its 6-9 season record. The Spartans go into the bout with a 6-8 record after their 45-33 non-league loss to Narrows (Narrows, VA).
