Belle Chasse Cardinals (Belle Chasse, LA) backers were pleased Saturday as they saw their basketball squad knock off the visiting Phoenix Spartans (Braithwaite, LA), 84-66 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Belle Chasse upgrades its record to 17-9 on the campaign. The Cardinals host Archbishop Shaw (Marrero, LA) to play the Eagles in a 4A District 10 bout on Tuesday, January 30. The Eagles come into the bout with a record of 19-4. Archbishop Shaw won 61-58 in their recent non-league bout against Catholic-B.R. (Baton Rouge, LA)

Next up, the Spartans play the Wright (New Orleans, LA) in a non-league bout, on Monday, January 29. Phoenix will attempt to upgrade on its 9-12 season record. The come into the bout with a 18-10 record after their 51-47 non-league win over Frederick A. Douglass (New Orleans, LA).
