Calhoun Warriors (Hardin, IL) backers were pleased Saturday as they saw their basketball squad knock off the host Carrollton Hawks (Carrollton, IL), 62-53 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Calhoun upgrades its record to 16-8 on the campaign. The Warriors travel to Triopia/Meredosia-Chambersburg/Virginia (Concord, IL) to play the Trojans in a Western Illinois Valley bout on Tuesday, January 30. The Trojans come into the bout with a record of 9-11. Triopia/Meredosia-Chambersburg/Virginia won 51-18 in their recent non-league bout against Astoria/VIT (Astoria, IL)

Next up, the Hawks play the Greenfield/Northwestern Tigers (Greenfield, IL) in a Western Illinois Valley bout, on Tuesday, January 30. Carrollton will attempt to upgrade on its 5-11 season record. The Tigers come into the bout with a 14-10 record after their 71-45 non-league win over Pawnee (Pawnee, IL).
