Virginia High School Basketball - Essex topped by Colonial Beach

The Colonial Beach Drifters basketball team scored 51 points and restricted the visiting Essex Trojans to 38 in the Drifters league victory on Saturday.
The Drifters now sport a 6-8 record. They put it on the line next when they host King & Queen Central for a non-league contest on Monday, January 29. Colonial Beach will battle a Royal Tigers team coming off a 80-35 league loss to King William (King William, VA). The Royal Tigers record now stands at 1-11.
The Trojans (3-9) will now prepare for their contest against Lancaster (Lancaster, VA). The Red Devils come into the Northern Neck contest with a 13-2 record. In their last contest, Lancaster prevailed over Northumberland (Heathsville, VA), 83-63, in a league contest.
