Sault Area Blue Devils (Sault St. Marie, MI) backers were pleased Saturday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the host Escanaba Eskymos (Escanaba, MI), 47-44 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Sault Area upgrades its record to 6-6 on the campaign. The Blue Devils host Traverse City West (Traverse City, MI) to play the Titans in a non-league bout on Wednesday, January 31. The Titans come into the bout with a record of 11-4. Traverse City West lost 64-53 in their recent non-league bout against Sparta (Sparta, MI)

Next up, the Eskymos play the Menominee Maroons (Menominee, MI) in a Great Northern U.P. bout, on Tuesday, January 30. Escanaba will attempt to upgrade on its 7-6 season record. The Maroons come into the bout with a 10-3 record after their 59-51 league win over Gladstone (Gladstone, MI).
