In Saturday's league match, the visiting Shiprock Chieftains basketball team scored a good 71-62 triumph over the Gallup Bengals.
In their next game, the Chieftains meet the Rehoboth Christian Lynx (Rehoboth, NM) in a non-league match, on Monday, January 29. Shiprock will attempt to move on its 10-6 season record. The Lynx enter the match with a 13-4 record after their 67-41 non-league win over Thoreau (Thoreau, NM).
With the defeat, Gallup moves to 6-10 on the year. The Bengals travel to Aztec (Aztec, NM) to meet the Tigers in a 4A District 1 match on Thursday, February 1. The Tigers enter the match with a record of 3-15. Aztec lost 59-56 in their recent league match against Kirtland Central (Kirtland, NM)
