In Saturday's non-league outing, the Hampton Bulldogs (Hampton, TN) basketball squad edged the visiting University Buccaneers (Johnson City, TN), by a margin of 62-57.

The Bulldogs (10-9) will now prepare for their outing against Johnson County (Mountain City, TN). The Longhorns go into the 2A District 1 outing with a 3-17 record. In their last outing, Johnson County was tipped by Unaka (Elizabethton, TN), 78-67, in a non-league outing.

The Buccaneers now own a 13-7 record. They play next when they travel to South Greene for a non-league outing on Monday, January 29. University will clash with a Rebels squad coming off a 85-43 league win over Johnson County (Mountain City, TN). The Rebels record now stands at 19-4.
