Mt. Edgecumbe Braves (Sitka, AK) backers were in high spirits Saturday as they witnessed their basketball squad bounce the host Houston Hawks (Big Lake, AK), 71-29 in a league bout.

With the win, Mt. Edgecumbe upgrades its record to 9-0 on the season. The Braves host Kotzebue (Kotzebue, AK) to clash with the Huskies in a non-league bout on Friday, February 2. The Huskies go into the bout with a record of 3-8.

Next up, the Hawks clash with the Redington Huskies (Wasilla, AK) in a 3A Eastern bout, on Tuesday, January 30. Houston will attempt to upgrade on its 2-8 season record. The Huskies go into the bout with a 5-5 record after their 63-41 league loss to Mt. Edgecumbe (Sitka, AK).
